To answer that question, we might have to look through our history books if it weren't for milkman Pierre Celis, who, when he was younger, worked at a white beer brewery. The last brewery of that type in Belgium shut down in the 1950s, but Pierre gave Belgian white beer a new lease of life when he took over his father's stables and started brewing it again in there.
